Painted Promise

The garden glows of brittle bronze…
While purple leaves bog shores of ponds..
The grassy fields once waved in jade-
Now, dance a golden… sun arrayed.
The vivid woods and forest by..reflect great rainbows to the sky.
Though we may mourn the freshness of spring and beauty of summer, autumn is but a painted promise of was lies hiding, waiting to come alive in the spring!

Insensitivity

What can I say? Some people are just clueless!! I wanted a positive twist on what I was trying to say . I am so amazed how people can be working on the same cause, in the same appointed room, at the same time, yet be so unaware that other people are actually there or that they even count. When a King is about to enter into a room, those awaiting know that He is on His way and time seems to stop at the very presence that fills the room as He walks in. When our lives possess the same value as a King, then maybe people will not be so insensitive to our existence…or maybe they still will…we have to love them anyway…it is impossible without the help of The King.

What is on your mind?

Sometimes we have to ask ourselves, “what am I thinking?” You hear the expression all the time, “what was he thinking?”
It is too often that we let our thoughts “run a muck”. Something maybe happened at work, the mind replays it all day long disrupting even your evening when you are far away from the problem. Maybe it’s that someone is angry at you and said a nasty word to you and the mind works you “over the coals” about what you did or did not do. You wonder why you just can not seem to be happy. So much of our time is spent vacillating between what happened in the past or worrying about what is going to happen in the future.  I advise people that I counsel, to let go of the pain of the past-(first grieve the losses) then make a decision to let it go! What is the sense in worrying about something that you have no control over? You are not in control of other people the only thing you do have control over is what you choose to think about. Then consequently, what you choose to do given what you are thinking…or not thinking. Tell your mind “no, I choose not to think about that” ..and start to find some more positive thoughts to rehearse in your mind. It takes some practice…to have better thoughts about the things that happen to us… over which we sometimes have little or no control.

Peaceful Greens

I just got back from a visit to the Catskills. The mountains are in technicolor! I did find refreshing there. I stayed at the Thompson house, off my room was a slate porch which looked over a view of the golf course. The hills rolled endlessly. These peaceful greens went as far as the eye could see. There in the distance, the greens tucked into the mountains. The brilliant colors were kissed by fog that morning, nothing could rob the wonder of this peaceful scene. I was trying to read, but the peace of this place kept calling to me to take in all of the refreshing that was there for me just sitting and looking. Do not pass up your moment to find peace when it comes your way!
