Lifeline

Every once and awhile, all of us need a lifeline. We get busy, we get tired and for one reason or another, we feel empty. This is true of all people of every walk of faith. It is great to know that through the strength of our God (Jesus), there is a chance to have new hope and a new beginning. What happens when we can not find the reality of our place- in who we are in Christ? We sometimes need a lifeline. The reason that I placed the lyrics of the worship leader Sarah Kelly below, “At About Midnight” is that, the day I was led to hear that song on You Tube , it spoke to me in such a way that I began to feel alive in my gifts again. Don’t get me wrong I love, and I am sold out to Jesus and His work, but just sometimes we need His lifeline tossed to us to tell us we are on the right track. This song was written as a cry from a world of physical abuse, I know the advocacy that I do is the right thing to do, for all those who are still stuck in a much darker place. This was my lifeline this week due to my calling, I hope that you find your lifeline, it is not true that we always have to be perfect, He loves us just the way that we are! Check out her video maybe it will speak to you too.

At About Midnight-Sarah Kelly sings to the Lord

At about midnight I’ll call
At about midnight-I’ll call out your name
Cause I need you beside me
Through these seasons of change
At about midnight awaiting this dawn
Cause I’ll find contentment just singing your songs
Here in this valley-where the shadows lead the way-Yes I know that you’re with me
Where the past meets today.
Seasons they come and they go.
Seasons they come and they go, yes
But because you are with me now-things will turn out alright–
And at about midnight -awaiting this dawn yes I’ll find contentment just singing your songs.
Here in this valley where the shadows lead the way.
Bridge
And I don’t understand this path that I’m on.
It’s like I’m looking down at the sun.
Turn me around
I’m all turned around again.
Oh-oh-oh
And at about midnight awaiting this dawn
Cause I’ll find contentment just singing out your songs
Here in this valley where the shadows lead the way-yes I know that you are with me now where the past meets- today-repeat
So at about midnight I’ll call out your name.

Live Life to the Fullest

Last night’s-long planned event went great . I thank all of you for coming out and being a part of that creative work!! I sang a solo “I’m Drinking from my Saucer Because my Cup Has Overflowed”… as I thought about the words… so much that we have been given is sometimes taken for granted…”and if I should go on living, and the way gets steep and rough… I won’t ask for other blessings Lord…’cause I’m already blessed enough…may I never be too busy …to help another bear his load…I’m drinking from my saucer Lord.. because my cup has overflowed”. Life is too short not to smell, feel, taste and embrace all that life has for us. Many live life…and reach out to help others, and others do not. Life is too short..we truly can not get back any time that we have wasted…not enjoying this journey called life…I have been given a second chance…God knows, perhaps many more chances than that!!! I so much need to not let things rob me of the right to embrace this great time on this journey..and I do feel I am drinking from my saucer since I have been blessed so much- that my cup has overflowed!! I encourage you all to enjoy this awesome journey!

Survivor’s Ode

It is my love that I am looking for.
I am standing at the door..I choose to walk in.
My head is drenched from the evening dew.

I have so much love to give, he has stolen my heart.

He convinces me that without him I am nothing, I can never find a way.

He twists my thoughts..I am confused..is it true?
He takes away my dignity, my pride….
Could this be my love who has stolen my heart?
He has taken away my courage and my confidence…I feel so hopeless..
So hard to believe…I allowed this…he has stolen my soul.

My heart stood still when he spoke to me..when I closed the door… my darling disappeared… there was no love at all….then I was alone in my pain.

So I called out your name…..yes, I  called out your name…you took away my shame.

I Want To Be Real

So much of our lives we are impacted by the constraints that various people, places, and things put upon us. There are times when what we thought would make us free to be ourselves may just turn into another constraint… for one reason or another. I think that may be why the “hippie” era was so interesting -that of course…in a world filled with needs to maintain status quo and to put food in the children’s mouths….led a free generation to a working class dynasty, and it seems so hard to look back after that. I love to say “home free” and in reality…really be home and free…free to be yourself…. free to love…free to laugh. So many families are so bound up with unfulfilled dreams, anger and other pain that even if they have a moment to feel happy…. it does not match the circumstance with the home and the folks that are playing that hide and seek game. Where are we really….are we “home free”…or are we home and in bondage. We all cry out to be real and free to be who we want to be.
