Real Friendships

Never forget those who died for our freedom

Friends care about each other and accept each other unconditionally. Friends are there for you when you need them! They are safe people to know  because they look out for other people and not themselves in any given situation.. They put everyone else first.

The best friend that you may ever have , is one who is willing to lay his life down for you , putting themselves in harm’s way so that others will not be harmed. You may consider our military some of the best friends that we have ever had. There were many in the past who have lost their lives so that others may live, a special thanks to our military who have unconditionally laid down their lives for the freedom of our nation, you are all truly the best friends we have ever had. Remembering all brave soldiers this Memorial Day! Thank you for being there for us!

Whose woods are these?

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

Whose woods these are I think I know.

His house is in the village though;

He will not see me stopping here

To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer

To stop without a farmhouse near

Between the woods and frozen lake

The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake

To ask if there is some mistake.

The only other sound’s the sweep

Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are dark, lovely and deep

But I have promises to keep,

And miles to go before I sleep,

And miles to go before I sleep.

Poem by: Robert Frost

This was one of my favorite poems growing up, hope it brings back memories to you.

Cabin Fever

All fooled!

When February taunts us with 65 degree weather here in upstate New York, we are all fooled!

I admit, my cabin fever kicks in and I want to rebelliously run outside without a jacket in 32 degree weather, when that temperature plummets by 33 degrees cooler the very next day! My hyacinths green noses are nudging at the frozen soil , saying set me free!!! So weathermen are predicting a Nor’Eastern today , that is just wrong!

I can only hope along with the rest of us, that they are wrong! One thing for certain, Spring is coming soon, looking forward to seeing those blossoms and seeing my green grass again! Hang in there cabin dwellers!

Life is Short

Life is a vapor

Who may climb the mountain of the Lord and enter where He lives? Only those with pure hands and hearts, who do not practice dishonesty and lying. They will receive God’s goodness as their blessing from Him, planted in their lives by God Himself, their Savior. These are the ones who are allowed to stand before the Lord and worship the God of Jacob.(Psalm 24:1-6)

I am relieved and resolved daily that my brother , Freddie is with the Lord. Though , I miss him everyday, I know that he is worshiping with the angels, standing before the Lord.

Open up , O ancient gates , and let the King of Glory in. Who is this King of Glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, invincible in battle. Yes, open wide the gates and let the King of Glory in. Who is this King of Glory? The Commander of all of heaven’s armies. (Psalms 24:7-10)

Life is way too short , open up your hearts today and let the King of Glory come in to your heart!!

Ocean is Deep

We have heard the expression , “as deep as the ocean”- all of our lives. As a child, I would ask “how deep is the ocean?” The usual response was, very deep. It has been said that man has not conclusively established the deepest, deeps of the ocean, though progress is made daily. Yet the bible says in Job ,” when lightening falls from heaven, it may be seen at the bottom of the ocean”, so God knows the depth. To man, the answer remains unknown. There are many things unknown to us that we believe, with or without proof, of course it depends on how skeptical you may be. We have perceived many things as we travel life’s journey , we have surmised many things that may solidify those things- that we do believe; or shake things up a bit. The most important focus to me is not just to believe, but also to- believe well. The definition of what that would be may vary for each of us, but I believe in a living God who knows all, including the depth of the ocean.
